CALL: Malvern Hills College; Cllr Robin Lunn (left) and Cllr Richard Udall (right) LABOUR councillors are calling on the county council to step in and buy Malvern Hills College to prevent it from closing. The college is due to close in August after bosses said it was too expensive to keep open with many students moving to courses in other parts of the county. Malvern Hills College has now been listed as an asset of community value, through the work of the Malvern Hills College SOS Task Group, and Labour county councillors are now calling on Worcestershire County Council to use compulsory purchase powers to save it from closure.

Relief in St John s as roadworks nightmare finally comes to an end

FINISHED: The pavement in St John’s before and after the work CONTROVERSIAL roadworks in Worcester have finally been removed, providing some much-needed relief for embattled residents in the area. The westbound section of the St John’s roadworks, which have been ongoing since last year, were finally removed over the weekend having seen the area closed off for several months. Photos from Worcestershire County Council’s highways department show the new pavements near Bromwich Lane with the A44 now open westbound. In addition, Bromwich Lane is now open, the permanent traffic lights are now on and bus services are running again.
