The COVID-19 pandemic made healthcare visits over video or phone the norm, likely turning telehealth into a permanent fixture within the U.S. healthcare system. In fact, the majority of patient access leaders at large hospitals believe 20-30 percent of appointments will happen over video in 2021, according to recent research. Further, an overwhelming portion of those leaders – 95 percent of them – believe the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services should continue to reimburse for video appointments, indicating the industry’s eagerness to sustain this format of care delivery.

The station in St Cuthbert s Way has been under construction since last year and is also home to the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS). Work is now complete and fire crews moved in on Monday. It is hoped an official opening will be held later in the year, when covid restrictions are eased. Stuart Errington, chief fire officer for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service (CDDFRS)said: “This has been a major investment for our communities within the Darlington area, and has resulted in a new state of the art fire station which is now ready to commence operations.
