Wednesday, March 10, 2021 Cassville YMCA launches 24-hour membership access The Cassville YMCA is the first in the Ozark association to launch a 24-hour access program for its gym. Rick Ragsdale, director of Cassville YMCA, said the key card access is available to members only. We had a soft launch on Friday, and everything was in order to fully launch on Monday, he said. [As on Monday afternoon], we have signed up 85 members already. The 24-hour access key card is an extra $5 charge to the monthly membership fee per adult using the service. Every adult in the household using the facility for 24-hour access must have their own card, Ragsdale said. It is only available for members who are 18 years or older.

Mar. 5 The Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System launched an on-the-road COVID-19 vaccination effort aimed at veterans in rural parts of the state Thursday. The first event, a drive-thru vaccine site at the Little Creek Casino Resort in Shelton, drew more than 100 veterans at pre-scheduled times throughout the day. They will return in three weeks to get their second shots. We are committed to ensuring no veteran is left behind, said VA Puget Sound Director Michael Tadych. We continue to work with our equity and special populations teams to identify veteran populations who may not be able to come in for their vaccines and to those who may be hesitant to get the vaccine.

Locally, people can find the equipment, support and activities to meet their New Years resolutions at the Cassville YMCA. Rick Ragsdale, Cassville YMCA executive director, said one option to start the New Year is by utilizing the YMCA Pay the Day program. It runs through Jan. 31, he said.
