The following press release was submitted by Sandy Clyde:
It is my pleasure to introduce to you Littleton Troop 19’s First Eagle Scouts: Katelyn Boyer, Amelia “Mia” Carelli, Stephanie Mullen and Hannah Orton. They are among the first female Eagle Scouts in the nation.
The official Scout journey to Eagle started two years ago on Feb. 1, 2019, for these four young women from Littleton. They had a strong Scoutmaster and adult leadership to help them on their trail. They named themselves the Riveter Patrol, after Rosie the Riveter as a nod to the historic nature of their journey. The four older scouts had a short 24 months to earn Eagle to be in the BSA Inaugural Class of Female Eagle Scouts. This meant that they had to hit every rank in a timely manner to be able to reach that goal. They had to earn 21 merit badges and camp out 20 nights while participating in school, sports, theater and normal family life.
