Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - It went below zero in Juneau overnight. Here s Meteorologist Rick Fritsch in the Juneau Forecast Office on Back Loop Road said the temperature got to at least minus four degrees at the official Juneau Airport station.  Since that conversation, it s reported that the temperature dropped to minus 5. It hit minus 14 at their office, he said. The 50 mile per hour winds downtown produced a wind chill of minus 18. It s been quite some time since the temperature went below zero at the official airport station.  The forecaster said that happened last on January 7, 2009, when it dipped to minus 9.
