The Emirati who rescued the two-year-old who got lost in the mountains of Ras Al Khaimah on Saturday has described the moment he found the child asleep in a hole in Jabal Yanas.

According to Al Bayan, local resident Adel Muhammad Al Jasmi had woken up for sunrise prayers when he saw reports of the missing child on one of his group chats. He immediately went to the search area and spoke to teams using trained search dogs that had already been on the site for about six hours.

A joint search and rescue team including members of the General Headquarters of Ras Al Khaimah Police, Civil Defence Directorate and a number of concerned authorities rescued an Asian child, 33-month-old, after his family lost him for 12 hours during a family trip at Mount Yanas.
The Operations Room reportedly received a tipoff from an Asian family last Friday alerting the loss of their child in Mount Yanas.
The competent teams rushed to the scene instantly on receiving the report with a number of residents of the area, the Hazza Fazza team for adventures and a helicopter from the National Centre for Search and Rescue.
Ras Al Khaimah: The Ras Al Khaimah Police’s Command and Control Centre received 5,008 calls during the Eid Al Fitr holiday, from May 11 to May 14.
These calls from members of the public varied between calls about traffic accidents and complaints of traffic congestion and various inquiries.
Major General Ali Abdullah Bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, confirmed that Ras Al Khaimah Police harnessed all its expertise and available resources provided the highest standards of security and safety on the roads for the people of Ras Al Khaimah and its visitors during the Eid holidays.
