He hocked $23K in jewelry stolen from Eltingville home. Now, he’ll go to jail

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. An Annadale man who, authorities said hocked thousands of dollars in jewelry which had been stolen from an Eltingville home, has been sentenced to 364 days in jail.
Ralph DeBiase, 45, was busted on March 11, 2019, nearly a month after the theft on Feb. 16 of that year, said police.
Authorities said 24 pieces of jewelry valued at $22,900 had been swiped from the victim’s residence near Arden Avenue and Moffett Street.
DeBiase is a friend or acquaintance of the victim, and another person looted the house while the woman and her family were on vacation, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation.
