Rawalpindi : World Immunisation Week was celebrated at Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU), says a press release.
Every year this week is celebrated in the last week of April. Pakistan Pediatric Association, Federal Branch and Rawalpindi Medical University jointly conducted various activities for the awareness of immunisation in children. Various webinars and sessions with students, parents and their children along-with doctors and paramedical staff were conducted.
Dr. Rai Asghar, who is Professor of Pediatrics and also President PPA Federal Branch, said that we can save lives of millions of children by doing in time immunisation. He said that in EPI programme vaccination is being given against 12 diseases including tuberculosis, polio, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B, Hib, pneumonia, rotavirus, typhoid and measles. Typhoid vaccination drive kicks off in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi:Typhoid vaccination campaign was kicked off at Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) and Rawalpindi Medical University here on Monday, says a press release.
Professor of Pediatrics and Head of Pediatric Department Prof Rai Asghar administered the first vaccine injection to a child in children out patients department. He said that this campaign is a revolutionary step of the Punjab Government.
He said that vaccine would be given to children from nine months to 15 years of age. Campaign will continue from February 1 to 15. This is and advanced conjugated vaccine which can be given to the young children. This vaccine is very effective and will have long lasting protection against typhoid.

Rawalpindi : An awareness seminar was held in Rawalpindi Medical university (RMU) regarding upcoming vaccination campaign against Typhoid fever. Seminar was chaired by Prof Muhammad Umar VC Rawalpindi Medical University, says a press release.
He said that RMU would fully support the preventive programme and university will fully participate in this campaign to make this successful. He said that RMU has already made local research base treatment guidelines for typhoid fever.
