ANNAPOLIS â The Kelly Bell Band is performing two shows on Saturday, May 22, at Rams Head On Stage in Annapolis â an all-ages show at 3 p.m. and a 21-and-up show at 8 p.m.
Blues Revue Magazine describes the Kelly Bell Band (KBB) as âAmong the most genre-expanding acts on todayâs blues scene. Who else can combine elements of hip-hop, funk, and blues-electrified here.â
Originally formed as the back-up band for rock and roll pioneer, Bo Diddley, KBB has been touring the world ever since, entertaining fans in Japan, Spain, Italy, Greece, Cuba, Germany and more. The band has won two prestigious Maryland Music Awards, including âBest Blues Band.â In 2018 they were nominated for âMusic Iconâ. KBB has been voted âBest Blues Bandâ in the Mid Atlantic Region (12 years in a row), and was recently named âBest Bandâ by Baltimore Style Magazine.

A highly coveted sideman, singer/songwriter Kasim Sulton is recognized and respected the world over for his work with other artists, including Todd Rundgren and Utopia, Meat Loaf, Joan Jett, Hall and Oates, Patti Smith, Patty Smyth, Mick Jagger, and Celine Dion to name just a few. His level of involvement has ranged from playing bass, keyboards, and/or guitar, to adding vocal harmonies, singing lead, and contributing as a songwriter, to producing entire albums, as he did with the Meat Loaf VH-1 Storytellers CD, released in 1999. There isnât much he hasnât done in his 25 years in the music industry.
