Mild tension prevailed at Rama Talkies area after an employee from a private hospital at Ram Nagar alleged harassment by police personnel from Dwaraka police station, on Saturday. She alleged that the police intentionally generated e-challan while she was returning home from duty, despite showing the permission letter from the hospital and also tried to shift her to police station, after she questioned them. According to Ms. Lakshmi Aparna, who works as a typist in a hospital, the police had stopped her friend A. Rajkumar while he was coming to pick her up and imposed fine despite he showing permission letter from the hospital.

Several trees fall on roads disrupting traffic in city
Heavy rain accompanied with gusty winds on Saturday night reportedly lead to death of a person and at Simon Nagar in Duvvada area in Visakhapatnam city. Though the incident occurred on Saturday night, it came to light after police registered a case on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as P. Bhanu Ajay (36), a resident of Simon Nagar.

Two persons from city arrested
The city police busted a suspected hawala racket and arrested two persons near the Telugu Talli flyover on Saturday night. The police seized unaccounted cash of about ₹70 lakh, in the denomination of ₹500 and ₹2,000 notes from them.
The arrested were identified as Roshan Kumar Jain (49) and O. Srinivas, both from the city. A few more suspected to be involved in the case are yet to be arrested.
