Although Ste. Genevieve’s traditional La Guiolgnee troupe will not be making its annual rounds New Year’s Eve, the strains of the unique Paw Paw French song will still ring out in Ste. Genevieve on Dec. 31.
Sponsored by French Colonial America (FCA), along with the Ste. Genevieve Rotary Club, Missouri Humanities and the Church of Ste. Genevieve, renown Cajun fiddle player Dennis Stroughmatt will perform the song.
First, he will give a free 2 p.m., concert at the church, titled “The French Creole Story of Missouri,” then will do the La Guiolgnee song as people walk through the FCA’s Vieux Noel light display at the Linden House, 5-6 p.m.
