War quickly permeated and transformed every aspect of life in the South in the spring of 1861. The Confederacy’s leaders realized that they could only win the war with the full moral and material support of its women. As husbands and fathers departed for the battlefield and politicians and journalists urged civilians to do their patriotic duty, white women were confronted with the strange new expectation of demonstrating authority and civic involvement.
The exigencies of war encouraged white women to develop a political outlook and prove their patriotism, in contrast to the antebellum period when they were considered too delicate and pure to become entangled in the public world of politics. Before Covid-19, the Western Cape health department s maintenance team in the Langeberg area, mainly assisted clinics and the two hospitals with repairs, servicing equipment and coordinating the availability of medical oxygen cylinders.

On Thursday 10 December the Worcester Regional Court in Montagu convicted Charles Stevens for the rape of two girls, aged 11 and 12 years old.
The regional court sitting in Montagu sentenced him to 25 years behind bars for the rapes. The court ordered the sentences to run concurrently.
The two cousins were removed from their biological parents due to socio-economic conditions of the parents and neglect. They were placed in the foster care of Stevens and his wife from Robertson. The rapes occurred on 3 March 2018 and 11 March 2018, respectively. His wife was not aware of the abuse as the incidents occurred while she was asleep.

Cape Town â The Worcester Regional Court has sentenced a 65-year-old foster father to 50 yearsâ imprisonment for the rape of two minor girls.
Earlier, the court convicted Charles Stevens for the rape of two girls, aged 11 and 12.
The regional court sitting in Montague sentenced him to 25 yearsâ imprisonment for each rape count. The court ordered the sentences to run concurrently,â Western Cape National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said in a statement on Thursday.
