Feiler, Spillane to return to practice Jan 06, 2021 at 12:15 PM Copied!
Guard Matt Feiler and linebacker Robert Spillane will practice on Wednesday, but they both still remain on the Reserve/Injured List. We have some guys who are getting clearance to work this week, and that work this week may produce an opportunity for them, said Coach Mike Tomlin during his weekly press conference on Tuesday. Robert Spillane is a significant one. Matt Feiler is another significant one. The inclusion or the potential inclusion of those guys is exciting, but it also creates some challenges from a decision-making standpoint, because we feel like we have some options. The guys who played in place of some of those guys have done good work for us. That s a good problem to have as we prepare this week.

On the Steelers injury report on Friday, the classification of kicker Chris Boswell being out for Week 17 puts the Steelers in an interesting position. Yes, they have kicker Matthew Wright on the practice squad, clear of the Covid protocol, and ready to go at a moments notice. The problem is, Wright cannot be a practice squad elevation in Week 17. Why is this? It’s because he’s already been elevated twice.

PITTSBURGH (AP) Mike Tomlin has a theory on what makes Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt go.
“T.J. is visiting from another planet, to be quite honest with you,” the longtime Pittsburgh head coach said this week when asked about Watt s spectacular 2020.
Technically, the youngest member of the Watt family in the NFL is from Wisconsin. It s his play, however, that s been otherworldly at times, one of the biggest reasons the Steelers (12-3) have locked up the AFC North for the seventh time in 14 seasons heading into Sunday s visit to Cleveland (10-5).
