A rushing attack that has averaged a paltry 54 yards over the past seven games is going to be without its top running back for Monday night’s game.
James Conner will not play for the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Cincinnati Bengals, the team announced about 4 ½ hours before the 8:15 p.m. kickoff. Conner suffered a quadriceps injury during last week’s loss at the Buffalo Bills, his first game back after a two-week absence from action upon testing positive for coronavirus.
Let s get to it:
PATRICIA TEMPLER FROM PITTSBURGH, PA: Why is the Steelers-Bengals Monday night game today not on a local Pittsburgh television station? I am very upset about this as I do not subscribe to ESPN, and I m an avid Steelers fan. I don t think this is right.
ANSWER: Rest easy, Patricia. The Steelers game against the Bengals tonight in Cincinnati will be televised on WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh as well as on ESPN. It s an NFL rule that all Monday Night Football and Thursday Night Football games be televised on an over-the-air network in the two local markets.
CORNELIUS KEMP II FROM LUKE AFB, AZ: How do you think Marcus Allen has played thus far? Also, what do you think of Marcus Mariota?

When you look back at the past decade of Pittsburgh Steelers football you will notice a couple of things. Most prominently how much talent has been on the roster, the lack of playoff success, and the amount of high profile injures. With the Steelers injured reserve seemingly growing by the week we are rapidly approaching ‘injuries ruined the season’ territory. So today we will look back at the past 10 years of Steelers football and how each season was effected by injury.

The 2011 season was a fairly successful one for the Steelers. Finishing 12-4 but losing the AFC North the Steelers were force to travel to 8-8 Denver for wildcard weekend. It’s hard to blame injuries for this famous playoff as Demaryius Thomas took overtimes first play 80 yards for a touchdown. A putrid game plan from Dick LeBeau gave the equally bad Tim Tebow minutes to throw in the pocket. The Broncos would lose by 35 points the

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been dealing with a number of injuries across their team, especially on the defensive side of the ball. One particular unit affected the most is the linebackers. Including both outside and inside linebackers, Devin Bush and Bud Dupree have been lost for the season. Bush‘s primary back up who came onto the scene and has filled in admirably, Robert Spillane, is also on the Reserve/Injured List but is hopeful he can make a return for the postseason.
Already down two inside linebackers, the loss of Vince Williams for Week 14 due to being on the Reserve/COVID-19 List was all the more devastating. While players such as Avery Williamson, Marcus Allen, and Ulysees Gilbert all stepped up to fill the void and inside linebacker against the Buffalo Bills, knowing Williams should be available soon for the Steelers would really help boost the position.
Pre-game Tik-Toks.
And the list goes on and on. Some are valid reasons (especially Randy Fichtner), while others are completely ridiculous. But most are missing the key issue behind why the Steelers are suddenly on a two-game losing streak.
This team is tired, and
really banged up.
To recap, the Steelers lost two starters, Zach Banner and Devin Bush, early in the season with torn ACL’s. However, the injuries didn’t stop there with star pass-rusher Bud Dupree suffering a torn ACL against the Ravens. Two other starters, Matt Feiler and Robert Spillane, have also landed on Injured Reserve (IR) in the past few weeks with a pec injury and knee injury, respectively.
