DELANCO, NJ – Burlington County’s push to develop additional miles of pedestrian and bicycling trails continued this month as construction started on a new trail linking Amico Island Park in Delran to Pennington Park in Delanco.
The new path is one of several new trails projects in the works or near completion in Burlington County, which already has more than 1,000 acres of developed parkland and 50-plus miles of interconnecting hiking, biking and running trails.
“Whether you’re in training for a marathon or just looking for a serene walk along the creek or through the countryside, Burlington County has some of the best trails in the entire state, and this new path promises to make our network even better by connecting two of our most popular parks,” said Commissioner Linda Hynes, the Board

The Laurel Run Land Stewardship Center is being established by the New Jersey Agricultural Society as part of a landmark agreement with the County Commissioners that gives the nonprofit organization the use of a 3-acre parcel of the park for Farmers Against Hunger operations and other activities to promote and educate the public about land stewardship and agricultural sustainability.

New Jersey Farmers Against Hunger will now have a centralized base of operations at Laurel Run Park in Delran, Burlington County.
Officials broke ground on a 3-acre parcel of the park that will be used to grow produce and teach the community about agriculture.
As part of an agreement with Burlington County, Farmers Against Hunger will have access to the farm buildings, including the former farm market, packing shed, and refrigerated storage space.
The county made the organization aware of the property in 2018, according to Brian Strumfels, operations director of Farmers Against Hunger.

With winter weather seemingly (finally) gone, outdoor dining is once again the hottest thing on the New Jersey food scene.
Myriad restaurants built outdoor dining setups as the COVID-19 pandemic banned indoor dining for much of 2020. Even with indoor capacity up to 50% now, outdoor dining is considered to be safer. And when you live in a state as beautiful as New Jersey, why not dine outdoors?
