India retained the third spot on the list of countries with a maximum number of billionaires. The country’s elite billion dollar club saw the addition of 55 new entrepreneurs in 2020 despite the Covid-19 pandemic. India is now home to 177 resident dollar billionaires while overall Indians with a net worth exceeding 1 billion dollars is 209, according to Hurun Global Rich List 2021.

New Delhi: The Hurun Global Rich List 2021, released on Tuesday, ranked 3228 billionaires from 2402 companies and 68 countries. Tesla founder Elon Musk topped the list with a net worth of 14.4 lakh crore ($197 billion). Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani is also part of the world s top 10 richest people as the oil-to-telecon giant s chief occupied 8th spot on the list with a net worth of Rs 6.05 lakh crore.
