PLANS for a new community pantry in North Glasgow have been praised. The Courtyard Food Pantry at Courtyard Cafe, Westercommon, will see members pay £2.50 and receive food to the value of £10 to £15 each visit. Flourish House and Queens Cross Housing Association were awarded £21,000 from Glasgow City Council s Town Centre Action Programme Fund to open the pantry beside the Westercommon flats. Bob Doris, MSP for Maryhill and Springburn, lodged a motion to the Scottish Parliament praising the work already carried out as well as the new plans. It paid tribute to the work of all involved at the Courtyard Cafe, which offers a cafe space for the community and jobs at Flourish House, and thanked everyone who has supported the cafe s kitchen, which has been used to provide emergency food support since March 2020.
