NA proceedings adjourned for 10 days July 20, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The proceedings of the National Assembly (NA) on Monday were adjourned for 10 days without executing any business. Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri announced to adjourn the House till July 30 soon after offering Fateha for departed souls ex-Sindh chief minister Mumtaz Ali Bhutto, martyred soldiers and others following the national anthem. Only three opposition members Syed Naveed Qamar, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali and a few government parliamentarians were present in their seats when the deputy speaker read adjourned orders. None of the members pointed out the lack of quorum in the House. The ongoing session is being held to complete 130 mandatory days in a parliamentary year.

The PAC also sought a report from the NAB with regard to updates of the cases sent by the committee to the NAB within a stipulated time of one month. The PAC meeting was held with its Chairman Rana Tanveer Hussain in the chair here on Thursday. Seeking the report regarding recoveries made from politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen and other influential persons, the PAC also directed the NAB to submit the report about the plea-bargains made by the politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen and other influential persons.

Planning Commission washes its hands of National Logistics Cell - Newspaper

Photo courtesy PAC website ISLAMABAD: The Planning Comm­ission has expressed its inability to “rein in” the National Logistics Cell (NLC) and suggested the cabinet division place it under control of the communications ministry. Hamed Yaqoob Sheikh, the secretary to the commission, informed the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) recently that the NLC was beyond the control of his ministry as “they do not share details even about audit-related paras in meetings of the departmental accounts committee (DAC)”. The PAC noted that almost all the audit paras were left untouched in the DAC meetings and advised the NLC, its auditors and the secretary to the Planning Commission to examine these in the coming DAC meeting.
