DSP, three SHOs ordered to appear before PA’s committee today

LAHORE: Punjab’s home department directed one DSP and three SHOs to appear before Privileges Committee of the Punjab Assembly today (Thursday). According to sources, MPA Suhail Shaukat had complained before the Privileges Committee that one DSP and three SHOs of Lahore had breached privilege of an elected member by entering his house without any kind of search warrant. He had complained that on January 13, 2021, his resident in Batapur Lahore, DSP Rana Atif, SHO Naeem Bajwa, SHO Mian Liaqat and SHO Zulfiqar entered without any permission and without search warrant. They spread terror in the area by firing in the air. They had broken lock of the gate, he mentioned in the privileged motion submitted to the Privileges Committee. Salman Iqbal, the owner of PSLâs Karachi Kings franchise, has urged the Pakistan Cricket Board to shift the remaining matches of the league to the UAE.
In an interview with Khaleej Times, the Karachi Kings owner said he asked PCB officials to shift the remaining matches to the UAE in a meeting on Thursday.
But it would be a difficult task as all players and officials would go into isolation for at least a week before the matches in the UAE, he added.

ISLAMABAD: The executive board of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday allowed to file two corruption references, eight inquiries and similar number of investigations against a former chief minister, ministers, parliamentarians and others.
Reports said the NAB allowed inquiries against the KP Minister for Information Shaukat Ali Yousafzai and former chief minister Balochistan, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, besides holding inquiries against MNA Sardar Jafar Khan Leghari and Raja Khan Mehar. While it also ordered closing the inquiry against former chief minister Punjab and former federal minister Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo. The meeting of the executive board was chaired by chairman NAB, Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, in which it approved filing of two corruption references, eight inquires and eight investigations.
