A private hospital in Jamshedpur adds Covid beds to its existing strength
RANCHI: After several reports of non-availability of beds leading to death of Covid-19 patients, the Jharkhand government on Saturday appointed a state-level nodal officer for the effective management of admissions at government and private hospitals. Districts were asked to set up similar teams at their level for realtime monitoring and evaluation of occupancies at the healthcare facilities.
Notifying the teams, chief secretary Sukhdev Singh appointed additional secretary of food and civil supplies department Shantanu Agrahari as the state nodal officer for Ranchi district. For the rest of the 23 districts, CEO, Ranchi Smart City, Amit Kumar was appointed as the state nodal officer and joint transport commissioner Ravishankar Vidhyarthi was made the assistant state nodal officer to ensure timely admission of critical patients.

Ranchi Smart City Corporation holds investors meet in Dhanbad Officials spell out details of plot auctions for project being developed near Birsa airport
Over 100 entrepreneurs, members of different trade bodies and industrialists of Dhanbad took part in an investors meet organized by Ranchi Smart City Corporation on Monday to attract bidders for the proposed auction of two plots.
Investors were apprised about the facilities to be offered at the smart city, besides criteria for investing in the project.
The meet, organized at New Town Hall from 11.30 am, witnessed the presence of Amit Kumar, IAS, who was present as Director of State Urban Development Authority as well as chief executive officer of Ranchi Smart City Corporation. He explained the technicalities of the process of applying for investing in the project being developed near Ranchi Airport.
Ranchi: Chief minister Hemant Soren will inaugurate and lay foundation of projects worth Rs 2,500 crore on the first anniversary of his mahagathbandhan government on December 29. He will also roll out 15 new schemes for tourism development, sports promotion and to reduce agri-distress, besides distributing welfare grants to about five lakh beneficiaries.
Soren held an extensive meeting with secretaries of all the departments at Project Building on Thursday, to take stock of the preparations ahead of the anniversary celebrations amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
As per the official communiqué issued from the chief minister’s office, the state-level programme will be held at the Morhabadi stadium for two hours from 12.30pm on December 29. Programmes will also be held throughout the day across the state in strict adherence to Covid safety norms.
