Sammelana president Ninganna Kunti delivers the keynote address during the literary meet held in Itigatti on Sunday. DHARWAD: Literary events, which were paused for almost a year owing to Covid-19 pandemic, resumed on Sunday with the inauguration of the eighth Dharwad taluk Kannada Sahitya Sammelana in Itigatti village. The entire village was decorated with yellow and red, the colours of the Kananda flag. Schoolchildren, college students, women, men, writers and literature lovers thronged the village. An attractive procession carrying Sammelana president Ninganna Kunti was taken out through the main road in Itigatti. Over 100 rural women carrying the traditional kumbha on their heads led the procession. Folk dances like ‘dollu kunita’ and ‘hejje mela’ were performed by over 10 teams.
