Manish Shukla, a lawyer, a social worker and a councilor of BJP was mercilessly shot by assailants riding on motor cycles. The incident took place near the Titagarh Police Station in the District of North 24 Parganas at 8.30 PM on Sunday, 4 October 2020.
The victim was talking with a few people and having tea outside his Scorpio car when masked gunmen opened several rounds of fire at him. The assailants, all armed with guns, parked their motorcycles in such a position so as to fire several rounds on Manish Shukla from a close range.
This was a pre-planned attack which was well coordinated and executed flawlessly with perfect timing. The assailantsâ complete lack of fear of law and order and of the police indicate connivance with the state machinery including higher echelons of the police.

Chhota Rajan
MUMBAI: Extradited gangstger Chhota Rajan, currently serving life sentence for the 2011 murder of journalist J Dey, was on Tuesday sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for the 2013 attempted murder of builder Ajay Gosaliya.
Accused-turned-approver Amit Sinha was granted pardon. The court ordered his release from Thane Central Prison, if he was not required in any other offence. “The state to provide proper security to approver, if required,” the court said.
Among the other convicted accused are Kaushik Rajgour, Arvind Shinde, Sunil Kumar, Vilas Bharti, Prakash Nikam and Satish Kalya. The accused were found guilty under sections of the Indian Penal Code and Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (Mcoca). Kalya’s advocate Santosh Deshpande said he would move Bombay high court against the conviction.
