The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) on Monday arrested Deepak Sisodia, an aide of notorious gangster Chhota Rajan and convict in the murder case of journalist J Dey. He was serving a life term and was out on 45-day parole in January 2022 but did not return to Amravati Central Jail on March 8.

Chhota Rajan MUMBAI: Extradited gangstger Chhota Rajan, currently serving life sentence for the 2011 murder of journalist J Dey, was on Tuesday sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for the 2013 attempted murder of builder Ajay Gosaliya. Accused-turned-approver Amit Sinha was granted pardon. The court ordered his release from Thane Central Prison, if he was not required in any other offence. “The state to provide proper security to approver, if required,” the court said. Among the other convicted accused are Kaushik Rajgour, Arvind Shinde, Sunil Kumar, Vilas Bharti, Prakash Nikam and Satish Kalya. The accused were found guilty under sections of the Indian Penal Code and Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (Mcoca). Kalya’s advocate Santosh Deshpande said he would move Bombay high court against the conviction.

Mumbai: Chhota Rajan, six others convicted in builder Ajay Gosaliya s attempt to murder case AFP PHOTO Mumbai: In the fourth conviction for former underworld don Rajendra Nikalje alias Chhota Rajan since his extradition from Bali in 2015, a special Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) court designated to conduct cases against him, on Tuesday sentenced him and six others to ten years rigorous imprisonment in a 2013 case of attempt to murder of developer Ajay Gosaliya. The convicts have also been fined Rs 5 lakh each. On 28 August 2013, at 4 PM, Gosaliya was shot at by three persons when he was exiting the Infinity Mall’s gate. The builder had sustained injuries on his throat, shoulder, stomach and palm in the attack.
