Annamalai University on Thursday announced that it will reopen the Rajah Muthiah Medical College, Rajah Muthiah Dental College and Rani Meyammai College of Nursing for postgraduates and Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) for medical and dental courses, from Friday.
According to a release from University Registrar in-charge R. Gnanadevan, the colleges for undergraduates will reopen from Monday. It may be recalled that the students had launched an indefinite strike against higher fees.
When the students decided to boycott emergency services, Annamalai University closed its premises indefinitely and asked the students to vacate the hostels.

Annamalai varsity’s colleges named in government order
The Higher Education Department has issued an order transferring the Rajah Muthiah Medical College and Hospital, the Rani Meyyammai College of Nursing and the Rajah Muthiah Dental College and Hospital to the Health Department.
The order follows an announcement by Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam in his 2020-2021 Budget speech that the medical college would function, henceforth, as the Government Medical College, Cuddalore.
According to the order, the registrar of Annamalai University had sent a detailed proposal to the Health and Family Welfare Department.
