Subscriber only The Officer-in-Charge of Rockhampton Station, Senior Sergeant Hanlen has found that her strength lies in working with people, which is an ideal skill to have when you are the boss of around 50 police officers and 10 administrative staff in a busy regional centre. It was almost by chance that Senior Sergeant Hanlen even came to policing. Unhappy with her choice of teaching as a career, she was 18-years-old and at a loose end when a family member challenged her to give policing a go. An event she experienced during the application process convinced her she d found the right path.

Subscriber only A man who was wanted by police in relation to a serious assault on the Sunshine Coast drove to Rockhampton where police claim he rammed their car, attempted to stab a police dog and led police on a chase. Police will allege the 38-year-old Caboolture South man, Christopher Adcock, wasinvolved in serious assault of a 31-year-old man at a Landsborough home on Thursday, March 11. Police claim the assault occurred at a childrens birthday and the pair were known to each other. The victim sustained critical head injuries and he remains in a Brisbane hospital in a critical condition.

Subscriber only Two people have been charged after a father and son were allegedly assaulted with a metal bar at Silly Solly s in Rockhampton s CBD on Tuesday, March 2. Police allege a man in his 40s and a teenager were assaulted by up to four people, one armed with a metal bar. The teenager was allegedly assaulted outside Silly Solly s, while the man was assaulted inside the store. Both alleged victims were transported to Rockhampton Hospital in stable conditions with facial lacerations. Detective Senior Sergeant Luke Peachey said police arrested two of the alleged offenders on Monday. Dylan Jade Elliott, 26, was charged with three counts of serious assault police officer, two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of enter premises with intent.
