RGS cattle paraders starts off strong at Beef Australia

RGS Show Cattle team awaits results of the Junior Parading competition at Beef Australia 2021   The 25-strong cohort will compete for a range of parading and judging prizes throughout the week. Head of Agriculture Hardy Manser said it was a great opportunity for the more experienced students to share their knowledge with the younger students and cheer them on. Tyler showed one of the Banana Station steers which the students break and run on RGS Port Curtis farm.

Mackay school takes out honours in hotly-contested challenge

Premium Content Subscriber only Whitsunday Anglican School this week took out the CQUniversity School Business Challenge for the Central Queensland Region round. The winning Mackay team consisting of Flynn Bushell, Charlie Webb, Amaya McKinnon and Lezaan Du Plessis took out the hotly-contested competition on Tuesday night and will now look forward to representing the region and their school at the national finals on July 27. Whitsunday Anglican School in Mackay took out the CQUniversity School Business Challenge for the Central Queensland Region round. Four CQ mates partner to launch clothing brand

Premium Content Subscriber only Working cattle in the yards one day at a Clermont property became the catalyst for a group of four young friends to start a clothing brand. The group, Ben Beatty, Sam Gray, Will Callanan and Maddie Podlich, had always dreamed about having a business together. Sam came up with the phrase Hide to Tide and it was Maddie, with her background in marketing, who said why don t we just do it . The boys grew up in Central Queensland on farms in Clermont and Marlborough and were all boarding students of The Rockhampton Grammar School, while Maddie grew up in Brisbane and spent time on her family s properties in rural New South Wales.
