Suisun Valley church announces new pastor
SUISUN VALLEY Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship has hired a new pastor, Sam Alexander of Fairfax.
“Pastor Sam” has been a Presbyterian pastor in Oakland, Burlingame and San Rafael. He also teaches the art of preaching at the San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo.
Of all the demands of being a pastor, Alexander said he enjoys preaching the most. He emphasizes giving a provocative sermon, following up with congregational discussion of the message after the service, a process that aims to deepen faith and explore modern interpretations of Scripture based on the fact that evolution permeates creation.

Norman William Proebstel
Norm Proebstel, 93, passed away peacefully at home Feb. 18, 2021, with his family close by.
Norm was born in Redding, California. His father was a teacher and his mother stayed at home with the children.
During part of his childhood the family lived in a tent during the Great Depression.
Norm had a life full of adventure and importance. For most of his work life he was a communications engineer connecting U.S. embassies with their headquarters at home via satellite. He
worked on the telemetry of the Apollo flights. His work took him around the world – he claimed 47 countries – and generated many colorful stories with which he entertained countless friends and family.
