The Torch Award is the premier award the BBB presents to a company. The winners demonstrate the highest ethical standards of behavior toward customers, suppliers, shareholders, employees and the communities in which they do business.
The winners were determined by an independent panel of judges: Gerald Sagona, vice president of business development for the Rockford Area Economic Development Council, Mike Cobert, director of NIU EIGERlab, and Ryan Cushing, director of information technology at Rockford University.
The average home sale price rose 9%, or $12,543, last year, he said. Greater Rockford Growth Partnership names president, CEO

ROCKFORD The Greater Rockford Growth Partnership recently named Einar Forsman as its new president and CEO.
Forsman has extensive experience in economic development, workforce development and health care. He has also served on several nonprofit boards including the Employer’s Association of Illinois, the local Workforce Investment Board, the Rockford Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, Rockford Area Economic Development Council, Lifescape Community Services, Community Kitchen and United Way of Rock River Valley.
The GRGP is a nonprofit umbrella organization aimed at advancing the region’s economy under which the Rockford Chamber of Commerce and Rockford Area Economic Development Council’s goals will be aligned for greater impact on business growth in the region.
