NEW DELHI: After women officers getting permanent commission and command posting in defence forces on par with their male counterparts, gender discrimination in getting admission in military colleges and school including National Defence Academy may soon come to an end and female candidates may be allowed entry as the Centre on Thursday told the Supreme Court that it was not averse to considering it. Responding to a public interest litigation seeking court’s direction to Centre to allow entry and equal opportunity for girls in institutions like Indian Military College, Rashtriya Indian Military College, Sainik schools, additional solicitor general Aishwarya Bhati told a bench of Justices Vineet Saran and Dinesh Maheshwari that government was not considering the issue adversarial and is agreeable to consider it.

Written test for Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun to be held on June 5 ANI | Updated: Mar 07, 2021 19:43 IST Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], March 7 (ANI): The written entrance examination for admission to the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, for January 2022 term will be conducted on June 5. The applications duly completed must reach on or before April 15. Applications received after April 15 will not be entertained, said a spokesperson, the Directorate of Defence Services Welfare, Punjab. The spokesperson also informed that only boys are eligible to apply for the admission. Selected candidates will be given admission in class 8. The written part of the examination will consist of three papers, namely, English, Mathematics and General Knowledge. Minimum pass marks in each paper including interview will be 50 per cent, read a statement by the Punjab government.
