The Russian State Opera will bring three acclaimed classic productions to Dubai Opera this February.
Audiences can look forward to enjoying Bizet’s ‘Carmen’, Verdi’s ‘Aida’ and new version of Adolphe Adam’s ‘Giselle’.
The tale of ‘Giselle’ will be staged between February 4 and 6, taking viewers into the doomed love story of Count Albrecht and a trusting peasant maid, Giselle. Giselle Image Credit: Supplied
On February 7 and 8, the Russian State Opera will delight viewers with the powerful and dramatic production of ‘Carmen’. Audiences will undoubtedly feel the thrill of fiery passion, jealousy and violence of 19th century Seville in Bizet’s most popular opera.

This February, the Russian State Opera is bringing three of its acclaimed productions to Dubai Opera.
For one week, from February 4 to 10, audiences can look forward to revelling in the wonder of Bizet’s
Carmen, Verdi’s
Giselle.

Kicking off the unforgettable experience at Dubai Opera is the most romantic ballet in the world,
Giselle.
The story follows ill peasant girl Giselle who falls in love with the handsome Prince Albrecht, who has been unfaithful to her. When a jealous rival claims her fiance, the heartbreak is too much for Giselle who is driven mad by despair and ends up taking her own life.
The third and last production by the Russian State Opera comes with a regional twist. Composed by Verdi,
Aida is set in ancient Egypt and centres on the love story between the title character, who is the Princess of Ethiopia, and the stoic Egyptian general Radames. With the Egyptian king demanding a war with Ethiopia, Aida must choose between her lover and country.
