RAPID CITY, S.D. Rapid City’s finest and bravest at Rushmore Mall in something of a blood sport. Firefighters and police officers donating blood in the 16th annual Guns and Hoses event.
The Rapid City fire and Police Departments have joined with Vitalant to encourage blood donation in Rapid City, and while it’s for a good cause, it wouldn’t be Guns’n’Hoses without a little competition.
“It’s a fun, friendly competition for us to get people through the door to donate blood, to get that blood supply back up,” said the RCFD public information officer, Tessa Jaeger. “We give each other a hard time, we try to get people to either vote for team fire or team law – team fire obviously – but it’s a friendly competition and we have the same goal in the end.”

PIERRE, S.D. – Twenty new license renewal kiosks have been placed throughout South Dakota, now offering additional services.
Previously, the DMV Now License Renewal Kiosks were fully automated motor vehicle registration renewal stations that dispensed only license renewal tags on the spot. Now, these kiosks are able to update contact information and mailing addresses.
Certain documentation is needed when completing your transaction at the kiosks. For all transactions, please have your South Dakota Driver’s License or ID Card. For renewing your vehicle’s tags, please bring a form of payment (credit or debit card).
Soon, customers will be able to report vehicles sold, print a seller’s permit, and renew their driver license. More information will be coming when those transactions are available on how those new transactions will work.
He Sapa Otipi holding drive-thru event to get public opinion on planned community center

RAPID CITY, S.D. A drive-thru event at Rushmore Mall is taking place Friday and Saturday to get public opinion on a planned community center.
In partnership with the Rapid City Indian Boarding School Lands Project, He Sapa Otipi wants to know what the community would like in a community center.
The drive-thru survey is being conducted in the southwest section of the mall parking lot, with a drum and dance group adding atmosphere, and pre-packed lunches from Colonial House for those who took the survey.
