Tickets for 2021 performances will go on sale in two phases. Tickets for the general public will go on sale on Ravinia’s website, ravinia.org, on June 16 for concerts between July 1 and August 15, and on July 21 for concerts after August 15.
It may be sporting a shorter season, but Ravinia is officially back.
Organizers on Thursday announced the summer lineup for the Highland Park outdoor venue. And with 64 concerts planned starting July 1, the season looks to be the mix of classical, jazz, rock and Broadway that performance-starved Ravinia fans are craving.
The full season schedule built around the Chicago Symphony Orchestra s six-week residency focuses on Ravinia s core commitment to classical and chamber music, but with concerts by Willie Nelson, Gladys Knight, Train, The Beach Boys, Indigo Girls, Ben Folds, Ziggy Marley, King Crimson, The Zappa Band, Andrew Bird and more, it presents a strong mix of offerings.

But that is all changing with a very welcome announcement on Tuesday. Wrigley Field says concerts are coming back, and they re not the only ones.
Wrigley announced at least a half dozen shows that had to be canceled last summer, including: Chris Stapleton, Guns N’ Roses, Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer, Lady Gaga, Def Leppard and Motley Crue, and Maroon 5.
A similar announcement was made from Ravinia Festival, which will be back with live music starting in July.
Ravinia Festival mourns loss of longtime producer Stephen R. Smoot

Longtime Ravinia Festival employee Stephen R. Smoot, who produced hundreds of concerts at the Highland Park venue over the last 15 years including Martin Theatre recitals by soprano Renée Fleming, violinist Pinchas Zukerman, baritones Matthias Goerne and Thomas Hampson, and mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung died suddenly late last month, according to Ravinia representatives.
Smoot was 57. Ravinia representatives did not indicate cause of death.
Dubbed St. Stephen by pianist Kevin Cole for his ability to create logistic and artistic miracles, Smoot was known for his quick wit and generous nature.
