New Delhi: Farmers` organisations will hold a nationwide `rail roko` programme for 4 hours on Thursday (February 18) as they continue their protest against the Centre s new farm laws. The peaceful protest is scheduled to be organised today from 12 noon to 4 pm.
Jagtar Singh Bajwa, spokesperson of the Kisan Andolan Committee, Ghazipur border said they will carry out a peaceful protest during the `Rail Roko` programme, adding We will offer refreshments to the passengers to avoid inconvenience.

New Delhi: The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of farmer unions which is spearheading the protest against the Centre’s agri laws, on Thursday held a four-hour long Rail Roko Andolan .
Meanwhile, the Indian Railways has said that the agitation passed off peacefully and it didn t have any significant impact on the running of trains across the country. Rail Roko agitation passed off without any untoward incident. There was negligible or minimal impact on running of the trains across the country. Train movement in all zones is normal now. Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) [India], February 18 (ANI): Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait on Thursday said that rail roko , the blockade of trains as part of protests against farm laws, will be done in a peaceful manner and food and refreshments provided to people stranded due to the protest. He also stated that he will not join politics as he considers it a big disease . Rail roko protest will begin at 12 pm and go on till 3-4 pm. Trains are not plying anyway. It ll be done peacefully. We ll provide water, milk, lassi and fruits to people who are stranded. We will inform them about our issues, he said.

New Delhi [India], February 18 (ANI): Farmers organisations will hold a nationwide rail roko program for 4 hours on Thursday as they continue their protest against the central farm laws.

Rail Roko Andolan: DMRC closes entry, exit at four metro stations
The security at the borders of Delhi with Haryana and Punjab as well as at the Ghaziabad border with Uttar Pradesh has been increased as well. The commuters should plan their travel accordingly to places that fall on these routes. (File image)

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) decided to shut the entry and exit games of four metro stations in Delhi on Thursday (February 18), keeping in view of the Rail Roko Andolan called by the protesting farmers. The four metro stations closed throughout the day fall on the Green Line of the Delhi Metro network.
