Ninth-grader harassed, ill-treated; mother sends legal notice to school

The
mother of a ninth grader has sent a
legal notice to her son’s school, accusing the latter for falsely implicating her child in a drug case and demanding money for his reinstatement. The
school has denied all allegations saying that the mother has defaulted on the fees and she needs to pay it for the child to be allowed back. They say nothing other than their wards’ futures is ever on their minds.

Jnanpith award and has also received a Padma Shri. The novel, which has come under fire, was his last work. Published in 2010, it is said to be a product of research that spanned 31 years. It concerns the evolution of Hindu religion over centuries.
