Martin, from Copenhagen, Denmark wrote “I stayed at Hotel Carter for a week, and it is without doubt the worst stay in my life. I have traveled all over the world on business and pleasure, and have just not seen anything like this. The room was so dirty that the Health Board should have closed it down years ago…”
Inside what turned out be a stolen vehicle, RCMP found a loaded 5.56 semi-automatic rifle at the driver’s feet and loaded and sawed-off shotgun under the passenger’s seat. The magazine for the rifle had the pin drilled out and it was loaded with 23 rounds of ammunition, making it a prohibited item, RCMP also noted. - Police uncovered five firearms on Jan. 13 when they were called to a complaint at the Ramada Plaza Hotel of guests refusing to comply with the province s COVID restrictions. The guns were stashed in hiding places around the room along with large quantities of ammunition.

Case numbers continue to remain steady or are decreasing in several categories, while the number of deaths remains concerning.
In addition, there has been an increase in cases observed among young people, and there have been a number of incidents involving health order violations.
Youth cases
When B.C. provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry was asked at yesterday’s briefing about cases among young people, she said that they have seen an increase in cases among youth over the last few weeks, “particularly when school ended in mid-December”.
She said they have been watching these cases carefully to try and figure out what contributing factors are, and she said most of the cases appear to be related to transmission within households and in small groups.
A complaint that two people were violating the province s COVID restrictions turned into a drug and firearms bust last week. Prince George RCMP’s downtown safety unit were called to the Ramada . . .
