1/1 Two teenagers have been arrested after a fire tore through a stand at Egham Town Football Club yesterday evening (Tuesday, May 4). Police said the pair, both 14-year-old boys, were detained on suspicion of arson as images released by the authorities showed the devastating aftermath of the blaze. One of the stands at the club appeared blackened and almost entirely destroyed by the fire that prompted a joint response from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) and Surrey Police Tuesday evening. We have two 14 year old males in custody on suspicion of arson following a fire at #Egham Town football club on Tuesday eve (4 May).
The fatal crash took place on Chertsey Lane earlier this morning. A woman pedestrian has sadly died after she was struck and fatally injured by a car in Chertsey this morning (Tuesday, March 9). Road closures in both directions remain in place at the scene of the crash on Chertsey Lane, Chertsey, as emergency service workers continue to respond to the incident. Police are meanwhile appealing to the public for information about what happened. In a statement posted this morning announcing the fatality, a spokesperson for Surrey Police said: A female pedestrian has sadly died following a collision with a car in Chertsey this morning (9 March).
