Representative image Bhubaneswar: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked varsities and colleges affiliated to them to create awareness among people about the pandemic and Covid-appropriate behaviour through their websites and other medium. “It is a cause of great concern that we are faced with rising cases throughout the country. We have decided to focus on a five-fold strategy to death with the situation. These are testing, tracing, treatment, Covid-appropriate behaviour (CAB) and vaccination. Higher educational institutions are expected to play a lead role in spreading awareness with renewed emphasis on ‘dawai bhi, kadai bhi,” UGC secretary Rajnish Jain wrote in the letter to vice-chancellors and college principals.

The Webinar was conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in association with Ministry of Education. Shri Sanjay Dhotre, MoS, Education, Secretary Higher Education Shri Amit Khare, Secretary School Education and Literacy Smt. Anita Karwal, Prof. D P Singh, Chairman, UGC, Prof. Rajnish Jain, Secretary, UGC, senior officials of the Ministry were also present. 43 women Vice-Chancellors and 25 Principals of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) also joined the webinar online.

UGC Proposes ‘Cow Science’ Exam On Feb 25, Asks VCs To Promote Feb 18, 2021, 10:40 IST New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked all universities across India to “encourage” their students to take the ‘Kamdhenu Gau Vigyan Prachar-Prasar Examination’, a national-level exam being planned to test people’s knowledge of ‘gau vigyan’ or ‘cow science’. The commission has also asked for wider dissemination of information regarding the exam. The University Grants Commission has asked Vice-Chancellors of varsities across the country to encourage students to take an online voluntary national-level exam to test their knowledge on Gau Vigyan (Cow Science). The Kamdhenu Gau Vigyan Prachar-Prasar Examination , for which there is no registration fee, will be conducted online on 25 February. And will be open to students studying in primary, secondary, and senior secondary schools, and even colleges.
