BELTON â Construction for Bell Countyâs upcoming jail expansion is a step closer to starting following the hiring of a firm to manage the project.
Sedalco Construction Services was awarded the construction manager at risk services position for the project following a series of interviews. The vote by the Bell County Commissioners Court vote was unanimous Tuesday,
The company will help determine the cost of the jail project and manage its construction, working in the countyâs best interest to keep the project going and on budget. Commissioners estimate the project will cost between $90 million and $100 million.
Commissioner Bill Schumann, who was on the committee that put forward Sedalco, said the company stood out among the four that were interviewed.

BELL COUNTY â On Monday, May 10, the Director of the Bell County Public Health District, Dr. Amanda Robison-Chadwell, announced her resignation and that her last day of work will be Monday, May 24.
The Bell County Board of Health is currently working to determine who will serve in Dr. Chadwell s place.
âI have been fortunate to lead this health district with its talented and dedicated staff,â Chadwell said. âWhile I am excited to see what the next phase brings, it is bittersweet, and I will miss working with this agency and the multiple partners that we have collaborated with along the way.â
