Men from south London filmed fly-tipping in Epsom

Two men from Sutton and Croydon have been caught and fined after they pleaded guilty to fly-tipping and littering offences in Epsom recently. In a statement published by Epsom and Ewell Borough Council (EEBC) and reposted by police in the area, council authorities said both men had been fined after they admitted to the offences. Security footage taken at the unspecified scene of the crimes was used to help prosecute the men. Around 10am on Tuesday officers from Epsom and Ewell branch of Surrey Police posted two pictures of the lamb they said was still missing as they provided details on the case and their appeal. In a post laden with sheep puns, a spokesperson for the borough police force said they had put a suspect behind baaaas on Monday evening (April 19) on suspicion of stealing the lamb in question.

Firefighters scrambled to burnt tortilla in Epsom

Image tweeted by Epsom and Ewell police Emergency services including a fire crew and police were called to reports of smoke billowing from a property in Epsom s Capitol Square over the weekend (April 17) that is now thought to have been caused by burnt tortilla chips. Police said they received reports of large amounts of smoke coming from a flat in the residential area, and were joined by the fire service there around 8.25pm on Saturday. Amid the response, road closures were put in place and some evacuations were even ordered as the first responders coordinated a measured response. Happily, however, the emergency workers reported there was nothing to worry about in the end, after finding the source of the fire which was thought to be burnt tortilla chips .
