.-Blum & Poe presenting the first major U.S. survey of work by Onomichi, Japan-based artist Yukinori Yanagi. This is Yanagis fourth presentation with the gallery, following his solo show at Blum & Poe Tokyo in 2019 and his participation in the group exhibitions Parergon: Japanese Art of the 1980s and 1990s (Los Angeles, 2019) and Mountains Carrying Suns (Tokyo, 2021).
Having resided in the U.S. in the late 1980s and 1990s, obtaining his MFA in sculpture from Yale University School of Art in 1990, Yanagi was first recognized on the world stage at the 45th Venice Biennale in 1993 with World Flag Ant Farm (1990).
