While over in the United States, Ford is busy trying to snatch away some of the Jeep Compass fans, Stellantis’ flagship brand has been working across the pond to develop the refreshed version of the compact crossover SUV in European specification. 68 photos
The company has revised the model as the “
New Compass,” much in the same way we’re also seeing a Fiat New 500 already out and about. And it s calling out the adventurous high-rider as “
a completely new model” because it made changes to the design, technology, safety, sustainability, and functionality.
KW Street Comfort & handling/suspension mods on the Octavia vRS245
The Octavia vRS 5E is based on the MQB platform which is extremely popular the world over and has massive aftermarket potential. With the vRS (230/245) in India we get the full fat EA888 2L engines that are capable of handling a lot more power than they come with from the factory, and adding power is probably the first mod that most of us do, but the handling side is a must if you want to extract and control all that power.
My goal was to make this fast, family sedan a lot more fun to drive and a lot more controllable. I am sharing my experiences and documenting it here, to encourage others to look beyond straight-line speed (which this car can easily do). Power is certainly an important component and needed, but a car that handles beautifully can be enjoyed at slower speeds in the city too, you dont need to only drive a fun car really fast to enjoy it.

Electrification efforts are in full swing over at Mercedes-EQ, and following the introduction of the EQA, the sub-brand is back with something new for its first electric SUV. The EQC gains two new versions in Europe that cater to a couple of extremes, as we’re presented with a new base model and a sporty AMG Line trim. 9 photos
The Mercedes-EQ EQC 400 4Matic is the new base variant that’s becoming available throughout all markets across the Old Continent in an identically configured version, enabling the German automaker to post a more affordable price tag of €66,068.80 (around $79,647 at the current exchange rates) on the window sticker.
Starting this spring - when the first deliveries are scheduled across Europe and the UK – Mercedes-Benz s most affordable entry into the fully electric EQ family will be the all-new EQA. If it looks familiar to you, it’s because the new CUV shares a lot of traits with the second-generation GLA. Naturally, the main difference comes in the form of a 140-kW (188 hp/190 PS) zero-emissions powertrain that should enable a range of up to 486 km (301 miles).

Mercedes-Benz is just one of the many legacy automakers promising the impending arrival of the EV revolution, only to fall a bit short at the moment. We could name a few other manufacturers that tout their eco-friendliness but have just one series-produced EV to show for: Volvo with the XC40 Recharge, Chevrolet with the Bolt EV, or Ford with the Mustang Mach-E.

The Blue Oval is on a roll these first days of 2021, especially when discussing how its commercial vehicles are doing sales wise. After the 44th consecutive sales leadership of the F-Series in America, we also just found out the Ranger was crowned as the most popular pickup truck across Europe. And the company is clearly aiming for an even better evolution in 2021. 21 photos
Ford is gradually moving away from less profitable sectors of the automotive industry, increasingly focusing on what consumers like the most. For the time being, that means crossovers, SUVs, and lots of pickup trucks. In Europe, those would be the little Puma and the fully electric Mustang Mach-E, as well as the Ranger.
