During the first meeting at 5:15 p.m., there was a closed session for Superintendent George Rierson’s evaluation. He requested the closed session, which is permissible under the Michigan Open Meetings Act.
Under Michigan s education regulations, educators and school administrators are evaluated each year by their board of education
The evaluation was then reviewed during the regular board meeting that followed at 7 p.m.
The board gave Rierson the rating of “effective” with a score of 87% or 3.498 out of 4 point scale on the Michigan School Boards Association Superintendent Evaluation Device.
