A Spartanburg man was charged with murder Tuesday in connection to the death of a man whose body was found near a homeless camp on Dec. 10 in Spartanburg.
Jerry Lee Grayson, 54, of 470 Yardley Court was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on the murder charge and placed into the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
The Spartanburg Police Department signed warrants for the arrest of Grayson earlier on Tuesday in connection with the death of Stevie Young.
Young was found under a blanket near the camp at Branch and West Main streets, according to a statement from the coroner s office.
Young was pronounced dead at 12:43 p.m. on Dec. 10.
“The confidence of the business community has been badly damaged because of COVID,” he said.

Nomination forms can be picked up and submitted at Woolworths in Bowen, located at Centre Point Plaza.
