Adirondack forest rangers completed a 16-hour rescue mission on Mt. Marcy last weekend. On Saturday morning, the DEC’s Ray Brook dispatch received a call that a woman slipped on ice on the summit and suffered a hip injury. The hiker was a 52-year-old woman from Colorado.
Around 5 p.m. Saturday, two rangers reached the woman and determined that she could not walk the 14 miles back to the trailhead. The rangers stabilized her hip and waited for additional support to begin evacuation.
The man was reportedly missing since back around April 24th.
According to the New York State Police and News 10, a Yonkers man who was reported missing last week has been found. Police have confirmed that his body has been discovered in the water near the base of Kaaterskill Falls.
Late last week New York State Police started an investigation after being contacted by the family of Jesse Ritholz, 36 form Yonkers New York. Family members told police that they were expecting Ritholz at their home for a visit back on April 24th and he never showed up. Three days later on April 27th, Ritholz’s parents told police they went to his apartment and didn t find anything out of the ordinary.

New York State Police troopers launched an investigation on Friday, April 30 into the disappearance of Westchester County resident Jesse Ritholz, age 36, of Yonkers, who was reported missing by a family member.
Police said that Ritholz’s family advised investigators that he was supposed to come to visit them on Saturday, April 24, and when Ritholz’s mother and father visited his apartment days later on Tuesday, April 27, “they observed that everything appeared normal.”
During the investigation, State Police troopers found that Ritholz had rented a black BMW 330 on Thursday, April 22, which they tracked to the town of Hunter in Greene County at the Laurel House Road parking lot for the Kaaterskill Falls.

On April 30, 2021 state police from Troop K began an investigation into the disappearance of a missing man from Yonkers, NY. Initial investigation revealed that
Jesse Ritholz, age 36 from Yonkers was reported missing by a family member. Family members advised state troopers from Troop K that Jesse was supposed to come to their home for a visit on April 24, 2021.
Jesse’s mother and father visited his apartment on April 27, 2021, and observed that everything appeared normal. Investigators learned that Jesse rented a black BMW 330 on April 22, 2021. On April 30, 2021, troopers from Troop F located the vehicle in the town of Hunter, Greene County in the Laurel House Road parking lot for the Kaaterskill Falls.
