Raise speed limits by 20 km/h: Nitin Gadkari
As per news sources, Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari, has proposed to increase the speed limits on existing roads & highways.

Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday asked his ministry officials to revise the maximum speed limits for vehicles and to increase them by 20kmph for different categories of roads. He also directed the officials to put in place a mechanism for uniformity of speed limits on certain stretches rather than effect frequent changes in notified speed limits even on short stretches.
Currently, the maximum speed limit notified by the road transport ministry is 100kmph on national highways for cars and 120kmph on expressways. But the state police and other agencies have the authority to fix the speed limit on highways and expressways falling under their jurisdiction. Share Article A vehicle lifter was arrested on Tuesday in M.K.B. Nagar police station limits.
The police said R. Suresh Kumar, a resident of M.K.B. Nagar lodged a complaint that his bike parked on April 13 night near his house went missing the next morning. Based on his complaint, the police sifted through the CCTV footage and tracked the accused who was identified Zaheer Hussain, 32, of Damodharan Nagar, Vyasarpadi.
Zaheer Hussain was arrested and six stolen bikes were seized from him. During investigation, the police found that he had stolen the bikes from Vyasaparpadi and surrounding areas. He has criminal cases on him for thefts in Seven Wells and Elephant Gate police stations.

She was immediately taken to Government Stanley Hospital where she succumbed to injuries in the early hours of Monday. A 50-year-old woman platform dweller killed when a car driven by a businessman ran over her in Kothawal Chavadi while she was sleeping on platform.
The victim has been identified as Dhanaselvi who used to do domestic work at houses and shops in the surrounding areas. She used to sleep on the platform on Gate Street, M.K.Garden along with a few other platform dwellers in the night.
London-based architecture studio AL A has designed two buildings for the University of Oxford that are wrapped in aluminium and etched glass to mimic stone and reflect the site s historic setting.
The two interconnected buildings form part of the Wadham College campus and consist of an undergraduate centre that houses common and social spaces and work areas, and a new access centre for visiting school students.
