LUDHIANA: Even as Wednesday was the last date to file nomination papers for civic elections to be held in Ludhiana district on February 14, not a single BJP candidate filed papers in three municipal councils.
The BJP candidates filed nominations in less than half of the seats in two other MCs and in another council, the party put up candidates in majority of the seats.
The councils where the party did not field candidates were Raikot, Samrala and Payal whereas it fielded candidates on 10 out of 23 seats in Jagraon and 4 out of 15 seats in Doraha. In Khanna, BJP fielded candidates on 31 out of 33 seats.
