Christmas Day was a very large affair for state politician Andrew Powell. He celebrated with 26 members of his extended family and confessed to eating way too much ham and prawns.
In Queensland, the Sunshine Coast significantly outperformed its state rivals the Gold Coast, Toowoomba and Townsville to have the most suburbs with forward momentum. Alexandra Headland and Palmwoods also featured on the report s national top 50 suburbs for super charged growth. The Sunshine Coast has a strengthening economy boosted by massive spending on new infrastructure as it transitions from tourist town to international city, the report said. Big ticket items boosting the Sunshine Coast property market include the international broadband network, the 53ha Maroochydore CBD, a $5 billion medical precinct and the international airport expansion. The report said the Coast continued to be one the nation s outstanding property markets.

The servo features 24 fuelling hoses, full truck-stop amenities with ensuites and laundry facilities, a large Super 7 shop with kitchen, more than 100 parking bays, five outdoor rest areas with BBQ facilities, external and internal kids play zones, parent rooms, shower facilities and more.

One person has been taken to Nambour Hospital following a two-car crash in Yandina on Sunday afternoon.
Paramedics were called to the scene just before 2pm and took one person to Nambour Hospital in a stable condition.
