Board of Developmental Disabilities seeks voter support on levy renewal | News, Sports, Jobs

Superintendent Edward Stark said the 10-year levy was first passed in 2012. He said the county auditor will certify the exact amount the 1.5-mill levy will generate before the board gives a final second reading at the May 24 meeting. Stark said with a renewal, there will be no increase in taxes, and the levy is countywide, so all residents will vote on it. He said the levy covers all aspects of the district from transportation, Fairhaven school programs and various services for children and adults with special needs and disabilities. In other business, the board passed a motion for TCBDD to partner with the Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Boundless Inc. to develop a respite home for multi-system youth located at the Mahoning Valley Campus of Care (formerly the Youngstown Developmental Center) in Mineral Ridge.
