Angelica Badua on the day she moved to New Zealand – the day she last held her twins. Badua has thought about going back to the Philippines “so many times”, but the Auckland-based accountant says the opportunities are better here. “That’s the only thing that keeps me going, thinking in the future it will be better for me and my family to live in New Zealand.” She is hopeful the recent changes to border rules will mean her family can join her, but the fact the twins have never held New Zealand visas complicates the process.

Stephen Borlase, the head of roading contracting business Projenz, was jailed in 2017 after what became New Zealand s largest ever bribery prosecution.

Today marks a milestone for Tāmaki Makaurau with the launch of the tunnel boring machine at New Zealand s largest infrastructure project, the $4.4 billion City Rail Link.
The German-designed Chinese-built machine, named Dame Whina Cooper, is launched this morning at the project s Mt Eden site, with final checks about to be carried out before she starts cutting around the middle of this month. Completing Auckland s City Rail Link has taken an exciting step forward today with the official launch of the machine at the project s Mt Eden site, CRL announced today.
