Buford man charged in U.S. Capitol riots granted bond

A Buford man charged with participating in violent riots on the U.S. Capitol building last month is now out of jail on bond. However, Verden Andrew Nalley, 49, will have to stay in his residence when he s not at work, according to a Friday ruling by a federal magistrate judge.  The FBI arrested Nalley this week in connection with the Jan. 6 breach at the U.S. Capitol. He is one of nine Georgians implicated to date in the incident.  The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Buchanan requested Nalley be placed under house arrest, but Atlanta Magistrate Judge Christopher Bly ruled Nalley could leave his home to go to work. Nalley was allowed to sign an unsecured bond for $10,000, according to the newspaper report. The judge ordered Nalley to wear an ankle monitor and to submit to drug tests.
